READ : An Open Letter To Nigerian Celebrities From Nigerian Army

This is to inform the general public and most especially Nigerian celebrities to abstain from the use and abuse of the Nigerian Military camouflage.

Several investigations were carried out and we noticed the camouflage is mostly been used by Nigerian celebrities in music videos, photo-shoots and concerts.

In this same videos and photo sessions, Nigerian celebrities like “Jesse Jags” smoke marijuana while putting on the Nigerian Military camouflage. This is a shameful act and it will NOT be tolerated
henceforth.

Other Celebrities have also been noticed putting on the camouflage at will. They include Iyanya, Wizkid, Davido, Tekno Miles, Chidinma etc.

The military camouflage is not meant for the entertainment industry, It is strictly meant for military personnels.

Henceforth, any civilian found GUILTY of putting on the camouflage irrespective of their social status will be dealt with severely.

OUR ACTIONS WILL NOT BE QUESTIONED.

Best Regards,

While I agree that our celebrities sometimes go to the extreme with their execesses, one must ask – Is it only the nigerian army that uses the camourflage uniform? I believe the carmourflage uniform is not restricted to the nigerian army alone and the nigerian army has not got the right to claim the carmourflage solely as its own. You now have carmourflage bikinis, g-strings, etc. Can the nigerian army lay claim to that? If a model poses seductively in a carmourflagged g-stringged bikini, would the nigerian army lay claim to that? These days the carmourflage is more or less a fashion statement & there are so many fashion assessories that are carmourflagged. They (nigerian army) should please ignore these things & face more serious issues like boko haram bombings

Well its not ok to wear the camouflage to smoke marijuana. ..if u look ay other musicians like in the USA u dont see dem abusing the camouflage. ..the camouflage is a symbol of d army so dey shudnt miss use it. Most of dem cant lay down their lives for the country so at least dey shud show respect to those who r doing so…

I totally agree with the 1st comment.. If jesse had posed with a grammy, or a nobel peace prize, or with the president of the fed republi of nigeria, no dust would’ve been raised by the nigerian army. I guess its the kush that’s the headache. Anyway, jesse could be wearing the ghanian, american, british, iranian, libyan, malian, kenyan, camourflage you know!. Its not restricted to the nigerian army alone. And i don’t think his gear was labelled “property of the nigerian army”. Afterall there’s a church here in nigeria where the pastor & a couple of their members deck in carmourflage gear just to establish that they are soldiers for Christ waging war against the devil. The army should channel its time and energy to other matters/issues of national interest/importance & ignore the likes of jesse & co. The army’s reaction has, fortunately & unfortunately, made the likes of jesse & co more popular!
