EZE – Official Artistic Biography

Eze John Chukwumaobi, professionally known as EZE, is a Nigerian-born singer, songwriter, and creative visionary whose artistic journey is rooted in resilience, identity, and deep spiritual heritage. Born on 14 March 1989 in Old Bendel, Okpale Benin (present-day Edo State), he is an indigene of Ezza North Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.
EZE’s early life was marked by movement and exposure, as he attended several schools across Eastern Nigeria. His primary education included Effium Community Primary School, Ebonyi State, and Ogui Primary School, Enugu, while his secondary education was completed at City Comprehensive Secondary School, Abakpa Nike, and Annunciation Secondary School, Nkwo Nike, both in Enugu State.
Music entered his life long before studios and spotlights—through the church. Raised by his mother, a music teacher, choir mistress, and later a full-time prophetess at Christ Ascension Church, EZE grew up immersed in melodies, harmonies, and ministry. He frequently served as a lead vocalist in her church stations, assisting in ministry and discovering music as a powerful spiritual language. This foundation became the spark that ignited his lifelong passion for music.
His professional recording journey began in 2009, when he recorded his first studio single. Over the years, EZE developed a vast catalogue of over 200 songs, collaborating with various artists, though many of his early works were never officially released.

In 2015, he attended Dunamis International Gospel Centre Bible School in Abuja, a season that further strengthened his spiritual grounding. Following this period, he ventured into real estate and excelled as a car broker and dealer, building a successful business career primarily in Abuja before eventually relocating to Lagos to fully embrace his musical rebirth.
Now re-emerging into the music industry with renewed purpose and clarity, EZE officially returned with “DOO DOO DOO (ONYEMAECHI)”, announced on 28 November 2025 and released on 1 December 2025. The single is currently gaining traction across major platforms and attracting global attention.
Earlier in his career, he was known as John Krab, a name inspired by his smooth R&B vocal style, often referred to as the “King of R&B.” He later rebranded as John Wealth, before finally embracing the name EZE, chosen in honor of his late father and as a proud declaration of his heritage and identity.
Shaped by faith, family, culture, business, and creativity, EZE stands as an artist with depth, purpose, and a story worth telling. His return is not merely a comeback—it marks the emergence of a new legacy, with a sound poised to travel the world.
