Longtime hypeman and top team member of Davido’s DMW/30BG, Special Spesh has revealed he was the barrier between D’banj and Davido working together as label boss and artiste.
Spesh who has been around since the inception of Davido’s music career narrated how D’banj wanted to sign the DMW boss to his record label DB Records and how he went on to frustrated the plan. He revealed this while speaking with MTV Base VJ Ehiz.
He said he never wanted D’banj to sign Davido even when the latter was willing to get signed. Spesh said D’banj had meetings with Davido’s father Dr Adeleke to seek approval and formalize the plans.
D’banj had promised to link Davido with American music stars like Kanye West and Big Sean for international collaboration, however, Spesh dissuaded Davido not to put pen to paper.
He was also the reason while D’banj failed to sign Olamide or May D.
